Happy New Year! Ah, time for telling your best friends and family your new year resolutions and attempting to stick with them past the first week of January. We understand how hard it is to create goals and attain them. Change does not happen overnight, but try to remember why you set these goals in the first place.
Ringing in 2023 with a fresh mindset on health and happiness is our goal. Our slogan goes “Grab Life and Taste it”, meaning seize the day. Take everything that life has to offer, and make the most out of the opportunities. Grab life and get rid of old habits and create new ones.
Resolution lists can include sticking to a healthier diet, exercising more, lowering stress, or creating better financial habits. Try to stick to one goal at a time, so it is achievable and not overwhelming. Whatever your goals may be, here are some ways to help ensure you stick to them!
1. Start small
Start small. If your goal is to lose weight, all you need to do is move. Even if it’s a quick 10-minute workout to get the blood flowing or having your neighbor meet you for a walk around the neighborhood. Starting small throughout the year will help you actually achieve them and not give up rather than setting a drastic one.
2. Ask loved ones for support
Hanging around family and friends with similar goals who also prioritize their health is a great start. Having a gym buddy or even a neighbor to plan walks with at the same time is a great way to stay motivated.
3. Journal to keep track of your daily goals and hitting them
Journaling is a great way to track and meet your goals. Treat yourself to a new pretty planner and set of pens or markers. Writing down your goals and creating a checklist will help to hold you accountable. Journaling is great for tracking your progress by conducting weekly check-ins and also for reflecting. Write about what you really want to accomplish for the new year.
4. Create a detailed plan that’s achievable
After you have set a goal that is achievable, spend time to plan out your schedule. For example, if your goal is to run more and or eat healthier, create a fitness log and set your alarm earlier than usual to wake up and go.
Remember to be proud of yourself for trying and celebrate those victories, no matter how small! What are your new years resolutions this year? We want to hear! Share in the comments below!
