Seven Spooky and Delicious Vegan Halloween Recipes

Seven Spooky and Delicious Vegan Halloween Recipes

The most haunting thing about Halloween is the inevitable post-trick-or-treating sugar trauma. Weeks of anticipation leads to over indulgence, followed by up-all-night tummy aches. Not to mention the effect all those sweets have on the kids!

There’s no doubt we will all eat a little more sugar than usual this season, but to help reduce such paranormal consumption, we’ve come up with a short list of what we consider to be the healthiest, most festive snack ideas. These vegan goodies will keep your little sugar zombies satisfied while making commercial candy look — well, sleepy. Marge Simpson would be SO proud.

Frankenstein Avocado Toast

These mini monsters are full of wholesome ingredients which make them great for breakfast, lunch or after-school snack. The kids will love eating them almost as much as you’ll enjoy making them.

TIP: When it comes time to assemble, invite the kids into the kitchen to help out.

Maple Cinnamon Candied Pumpkin Seeds

Once the jack-o-lanterns are carved, give this recipe a try. Pumpkin seeds are full of protein and loaded with nutrients like manganese and zinc. But the maple coating will make them taste like dessert, and isn’t that what really matters?

Stuffed Jack-o-Lantern Peppers

Stuffed Jack-O-Lanterns

And speaking of ol’ jack, how about these adorable Halloween-inspired stuffed peppers from Healthful Pursuit?

Vegan Mint Chocolate Witch Hats

These are guaranteed to cast a spell on your entire family (Snickers Shmickers!) and earn you the Best Parent on the Block Award (that’s a thing, right?). They take a little extra effort, but the payoff is totally worth it. They're minty fresh (swoon!) and nobody will believe they’re vegan.

Homemade Cripsy Twix Bars

These bars from Oh She Glows are ooey, gooey, delicious — and so much healthier than the original Twix.

Gluten Free Vegan Mummy Cookies

These mummy cookies are so cute you won’t want to eat them. But the kids will, so you better make a double batch!

Halloween Peppermint Bark

Throwback to last year's favorite Halloween-inspired recipe featuring our very own Peppermint. This one never goes out of style, and you can never have too much chocolate this time of year!
